Our Workshops
Welcome to Earthwhisperer.
I am Joanna Goldsmid - an outdoor educator who believes in a world where all children grow up knowing our natural heritage as a place of wonder, belonging and refuge.
From this grows appreciation and from appreciation grows the desire to nurture and protect.
If nature is to thrive in the future we need children to feel this deep connection.
And children need nature if they are to truly thrive too. Quality time spent in nature is medicine for young minds.

Primary Workshops
My Animal Friends
KS1 & KS2

Watch footage of my wildlife encounters in London. Then step outside to make friends with the fascinating animals living on your doorstep. Visit them in their homes and spot the clues they leave behind. Equipped to the eyeballs we'll make lots of new playmates. And we'll learn how we can help them to thrive in your school grounds.

Free as a Bird
KS1 & KS2

Learn all about the wondrous world of the birds you share your neighbourhood with. Look for clues, find their homes, and study their characteristics with our state of the art binoculars. Learn the 'tracker's walk' to get closer to them than you've ever thought possible. And then problem solve solutions to help birds thrive in your school grounds.
Natural Mindfulness
KS1 & KS2

Mindfulness is the practice of paying close attention to the present moment with a quality of curiosity and appreciation. Nature provides a perfect context as it awakens our senses and engages our interest. Through 'micro-world' exploration, 'sound mapping' and the ''steady stone' game, we will start to notice the extraordinary in the ordinary and the power of nature to calm, soothe and inspire.
Wild Words
KS2

Open your senses and explore the nature around you. Using fun interactive games and challenges you will create an abundant wordbank and release your inner poet! Then write a group acrostic poem inspired by your experiences interacting with the nature all around you. You'll suprise yourself with your creativity!

Planet Plant
KS1

Our city is full of plants - from dandelions to great oaks. How do they grow? How do they spread? Why do we need them? Through exploration, song and games we'll learn to appreciate the amazing job plants do to from . And we'll make our very own seed balls to help plants flourish into the future.
Natural Photographers
KS2

Learn about what makes a good photograph. Discuss examples, practice composition, choosing a subject and a perspective. Now you are ready to take your own! Using simple digital cameras you will enjoy creating new and interesting images of 'everyday' nature to show your friends.
Early Years Workshops
My Minibeast Friends
Early Years
Watch our film about Sanjay the lonely spider as he tries to make new friends. Then step outside to meet them all! What have I caught in my net? What's dropped out of the bush onto your capture cloth? We'll leave no stone unturned, so get ready to make a whole bunch of new playmates.

Sense-ational Nature
Early Years

Watch the story about Ladybird, Bee and Spider's wild adventure. Then we'll head outside to explore all the textures, sounds, sights and smells the season has to offer - whether its spring or autumn! Make some art with natural treasures you've collected. Then go home happy with your very own gift box full of your favourite gifts from nature.
Nature and wellbeing are intimately connected.
Breaktime? Take a 3 minute breather with this film.
Drop into the beauty of plant life and birdsong... guaranteed to revive you!
